Out-of-hours works: Temporary road closures of George St between Margaret St and Charlotte St

For safety reasons a tower crane and chiller installation has been scheduled for both Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December requiring a temporary road closure on both days between 4am and 6.30pm.

When:

The temporary road closure is scheduled for between 4am and 6.30pm on both Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December 2020, in the event of unfavourable weather or site conditions, works will occur the following weekend.

Where:

The temporary road closure will occur along all lanes of George Street between Margaret and Charlotte streets. While the heavy lifting works will occur within the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane construction site and on a section of George St (see map over page).

What to expect:

At times during working hours, the following may be experienced:

• Noise from cranes lifting heavy equipment within the site boundary
• Engine noise from diesel cranes when operating
• Intermittent hammering on steel.

Motorists please follow detour signage and the direction of traffic control at all times.

Access to The Great Southern Hotel and Stephens Lane will be maintained for hotel guests and deliveries. Please   follow the direction of traffic control.
