People, environment and heritage

Destination Brisbane Consortium‘s $3.6 billion construction of Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will be one of the largest projects Queensland has ever seen, spectacularly transforming Brisbane CBD’s landscape forever.

Today, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane contains a number of underutilised heritage buildings, obsolete government buildings and neglected riverfront land under the Riverside Expressway in the CBD.

Extending from the current Treasury Casino building at the top of the Queen Street Mall to Alice Street, and from the Brisbane River’s edge to George Street, the precinct covers more than 26 hectares across land and water.

Our consortium’s development is unique in nature given its significant size and scale; the precinct’s European heritage buildings in the area to be beautifully restored and repurposed; its CBD location; and close proximity to the Brisbane River.

We will work closely with our employees, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, the community, local authorities and governments to implement best practice development procedures and measures during construction and once operational.
