Night Works – George Street westbound between Charlotte and Mary Street temporarily reduced to one lane for footpath upgrades

Night works from Monday 9 October to Monday 30 October 2023 to upgrade a section of the George Street footpath. Footpath to remain open to pedestrians during the day.

When:

From Monday 9 October 2023 works on the southern footpath between Mary and Charlotte Streets (outside the Printery and Treasury Hotel buildings) will take place. Work hours will be between 6pm and 5am Monday to Friday for approximately three weeks until Monday 30 October.

Where:

Footpath works will be taking place on the south side of George Street between Mary and Charlotte Streets. There will be temporary fencing in place around the work area for the safety. Access for pedestrians on George Street will remain open during the day.

Treasury Hotel Access on George Street:

Access to the Treasury Hotel George Street entrance will be temporarily impacted during this time to accommodate the works. Access to the Treasury Hotel will remain open from Queens Park and William Street.

What to expect:

The George Street footpath works will include:

• Temporary fencing for a work exclusion zone on the current footpath.
• Noise from machinery including vacuum trucks, saw cutting and excavation equipment.
• Task lighting directed into the work area.
• Workers behind the temporary fencing during construction hours.
• Temporary pedestrian diversions.
