Construction continues on Queensland’s largest basement

Queen’s Wharf Brisbane is fast progressing towards some key milestones this year.

With COVID-19 requirements in place, construction has been continuing on the basement levels which remain on track to be completed by mid-May 2020.

Multiplex Project Director Dayne May said the podium levels will be at a height above the Riverside Expressway by mid-May.

“William Street is being re-built through the centre of the site, while works progress on the basement levels, all four towers lift and stairwell cores,” he said.

“Multiplex has implemented COVID-19 social distancing and other requirements which has changed the way workers interact with each other on-site and during lunch breaks – each worker and their location is mapped on any given day.

“The health and safety of our workers is a priority as Multiplex continues reviewing and applying government social distancing practices on the project as the situation evolves.

“There are currently over 400 workers on-site who have all played a pivotal role keeping the project running while following social distancing practices – this is something we can all be proud of as a project team.”

Multiplex is continuing construction on the integrated resort development which includes building the basement levels, four tower structures, facades, podium levels and iconic sky deck.
