Bicentennial Bikeway update

The bikeway from North Quay Ferry Terminal to Waterline Park will open on Saturday 2 April 2022.

After weeks of cleaning and reinstating infrastructure since the devastating floods, the Bicentennial Bikeway will be reopening through Queen’s Wharf Brisbane for bikeway users during daylight hours.

The Mangrove Walk and bikeway from QUT and the Goodwill Bridge to Waterline Park has already reopened for use during daylight hours.

Multiplex has been working to re-establish the bikeway connection as a priority and continue to work at re-establishing lighting throughout the area.

For your safety, bikeway users are asked to use caution when moving through the area as some conditions have changed.

Multiplex Project Manager Tyson Macdonald said substantial cleaning and reinstatement of infrastructure has been undertaken in the lead up to the opening.

“The team have rallied together to clean the majority of the area impacted by floodwaters,” Mr Macdonald said.

“Along with cleaning and debris removal, surface levelling and fencing repairs on the existing bikeway was also required.

“A key focus for Multiplex is opening the bikeway as soon as possible but only when it is safe for all users.”

The upcoming Bicentennial Bikeway diversion has been delayed due to the weather event in early March. More information will be provided about the diversion timing once a new date has been established.
