The land where the Neville Bonner Bridge (NBB) connects to South Bank has been designated by the State of Queensland Government as a Priority Development Area (PDA) or declared by the Minister for Economic Development Queensland (MEDQ) as a Priority Development Area (PDA) Associated Development Area.
Within this land, development is governed by the Economic Development Act (ED Act) (2012) legislation. Section 84 requires that public notification is undertaken for development applications within a PDA Associated Development area.
The development applications seek to create the South Bank tenure parcels for the bridge development that the State Government has already approved and is reaching construction completion.
