William Street (northside) Works and Upgrades

From Tuesday 20 February 2024, works to upgrade a section of William Street north of the development (Treasury Hotel side) will commence. Pedestrian and vehicle access on William Street will intermittently be impacted.

When:

From Tuesday 20 February to the end of April 2024 works on William Street and the Treasury Hotel concierge entry on the north side of the integrated resort development will take place. Works hours will be between 7am and 4pm Monday to Friday.

Where:

Works will be taking place between Former State Library and Commissariat Store on William Street. Upgrades in Stephens Lane between William Street and George Street will also be completed. The works will have a staged approach and temporary fencing will be in place around the works areas for the safety of pedestrians and workers.

Access for pedestrians on William Street into the Commissariat Store and the Treasury Hotel will have some intermittent detours but will mostly remain open during this period.

Changed traffic conditions on William Street:

At times Treasury guests arriving at the concierge on William Street will be temporarily unable to complete a U-turn to exit and will be directed to exit via Stephens Lane onto George Street. This is to accommodate an exclusion zone for equipment and for a works area while the upgrades are underway.

What to expect:

The William Street works will include:

  • Installation of services on William Street from late February
  • Upgrades to the footpath on the Treasury Hotel side of William Street in March
  • Resurfacing of William Street in April resulting in temporary closures.
  • Temporary fencing for a work exclusion zone on William St and the current footpath outside Treasury at times.
  • Noise from machinery including vacuum trucks, saw cutting and excavation equipment.
  • Workers behind the temporary fencing during construction hours.
  • Temporary reduced footpath width at times.
  • Diversions and Traffic control in place as required.

Please follow all direction from traffic control and signage. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your ongoing patience.
