Traffic changes: Northbound Margaret Street off-ramp temporarily reduced to one lane

On Thursday 12 October 2023 there will be a temporary lane closure on the northbound Margaret Street off-ramp.

When:

On Thursday 12 October 2023 between 4pm and 8pm a temporary lane closure will occur on the northbound Margaret Street offramp. The lane closure will be reduced until William Street.

The temporary lane reduction on Margaret Street will accommodate a projected increase in traffic on Gardens Point Road during this time.

Where:

The temporary lane reduction will be in place on Margaret Street until William Street (See map). The lanes will be reconfigured with signage and traffic control.

Changed traffic conditions:

Road users on this section of Margaret St will need to follow temporary signage and traffic control in place during this time.

Road users on Gardens Point Road will have a temporary dedicated exit onto Margaret Street up to William Street to assist with the movement of traffic but will still need to follow directions from traffic control during this time.

What to expect:

The temporary Margaret St northbound off ramp lane closure will include the following:

  • Reduce northbound offramp from two lanes to one lane.
  • Temporarily reinstate the dedicated lane exiting Gardens Point onto Margaret Street.
  • Maintain right turn onto William Street.
  • Right & left turn options from Margaret Street onto George Street will be maintained.
  • No changes to Southbound exit onto Margaret Street.

Additional signage and traffic control to guide road users will be in place. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your ongoing patience.
