On Saturday 12 March 2022, a temporary traffic detour will be required to remove a tower crane adjacent to George Street within the Queen’s Wharf site.
When:
Works scheduled on Saturday 12 March 2022 from 6.30am and 6.30pm require an exclusion area on George St while works to remove a tower crane within the Queen’s Wharf site occur.
A temporary weekend road closure is required to minimise impacts to the road network during peak hours. All works are subject to weather and site conditions, if required these works will be rescheduled to the next available weekend (Saturday 19 March 2022).
Where:
Work will occur within the Queen’s Wharf site while westbound lanes on George Street (closest to site) will be closed. Traffic on Margaret St will not be permitted to turn left onto George St between Margaret and Mary St. (see map). Eastbound lanes on George St will not be impacted.
Temporary diversion:
For inbound city traffic, follow the Margaret St detour for access to the CBD. Access to 1 William Street and Gardens Point Road will be maintained at all times.
The temporary road closure for northbound George Street traffic will include the following:
– Temporary road closure on George St between Margaret and Mary Streets
– Reduced speed limits on the approach to the construction site
– Noisy works including, rattle guns and hammering on steel
– Workers entering and existing the site between approved hours.
Detour signage and traffic control will be in place to guide road users during the road closure. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your ongoing patience.
Any construction enquiries please contact Multiplex on 1800 931 760 (toll free 24/7).
