Rescheduled night works at South Bank for Neville Bonner Bridge concrete pour

Rescheduled to 24 October: out-of-hours work is required to bring a number of concrete trucks into the bridge construction zone for the mid-river pier concrete pour.

When:

Night works: From 8:00pm Sunday 24 October to 6:00am Monday 25 October 2021 bridge contractor Fitzgerald Constructions will work to pour the mid-river pier pile cap. All work is subject to weather and site conditions.

Where:

Concrete trucks will be escorted under traffic control from Russel Street to the Neville Bonner Bridge construction site. The concrete trucks will pump to the mid-river pier using the Clem Jones Promenade overhead gantry. On the mid-river pier, workers will be forming the concrete during this time.

What to expect:

A higher frequency of construction vehicle movements between the construction zone and Russell Street is expected.

Pedestrian and cyclist access:

Pedestrian and cyclist access through the cultural forecourt and South Bank will operate as usual, however for safety reasons pedestrians and cyclists are asked to be mindful of the concrete truck movements between Construction Zone and Russell Street in the early hours of Monday 25 October.

Ferry terminal access:

South Bank 1 and 2 ferry terminals are currently closed due to upgrading works, ferry passengers are required to make their way to South Bank ferry terminal 3 at the eastern end of the South Bank Parklands.
