Night works and temporary closure of the Clem Jones Promenade for bridge works

Out-of-hours work is required carry out the installation of bridge modules.

When:

Night works: From Sunday 21 November to Tuesday 23 November 2021 bridge contractor Fitzgerald Constructions will be working out of hours to install the bridge sections. All work is subject to weather and site conditions.

Works will commence at 9pm every night, the temporary detour of the Clem Jones Promenade will be applied between 10pm and 5am.

Where:

The sections of the bridge will be installed from the South Bank bridge abutment to the temporary support structure in the river.

For safety reasons the Clem Jones Promenade in front of the site area will be closed while the overhead lift is occurring. See attached map for details of the closed area and temporary detour.

What to expect:

The Clem Jones Promenade will be closed between the Victoria Bridge and the Riverside Green. Traffic controllers will be on-site to guide pedestrians and cyclists along the temporary detour.

The QPAC carpark will have riverside entrances restricted during the detour. All doors will be accessible under and emergency event within the carpark.

Ferry terminal access:

South Bank 1 and 2 ferry terminals are currently closed due to upgrading works, ferry passengers are required to make their way to South Bank ferry terminal 3 at the eastern end of the South Bank Parklands.
