Mangrove planting requires minor interruptions to a short section of the Bicentennial Bikeway

To create a safe work zone, a section of the Bicentennial Bikeway, adjacent to the Finger Wharves, will be intermittently reduced in width while up to 350 mangroves are planted in the river.

When:

From Monday 27 July until Friday 7 August 2020, between 6am and 6pm Probuild will be planting up to 350 mangroves in the river.

Where:

The construction work (planting) will occur in the Brisbane River, however work zones will be established along a cordoned off section of the Bicentennial Bikeway. See attached map for specific details.

Bikeway access will be restricted in short sections where the work is occurring, however access will remain at all times.

Pedestrian / cyclist impacts:

Bikeway access will be maintained at all times, however between 27 July and 7 August 2020, a short section of the Bicentennial Bikeway may have a reduced width to allow a safe work zone while approximately 350 mangroves are planted in the Brisbane River.

Take care when approaching. Caution recommended.
