George Street footpath upgrades between Charlotte and Mary Street

Night works from Friday 7 July 2023 to upgrade a section of the George St footpath. Footpath to remain open to pedestrians.  

When:

From Friday 7 July 2023 works on the north side footpath between Mary and Charlotte Streets (opposite the integrated resort development) will take place at night. Work hours will be between 7pm and 4am Monday to Friday for approximately 6 weeks.  

Where:

Footpath works will be taking place on George Street (north side) between Mary and Charlotte Streets. There will be temporary fencing in place around the work area for the safety of pedestrians and workers.

Access for pedestrians on George Street will remain open.

Changed parking conditions on George Street:

Street car parking between Charlotte and Mary Streets will be temporarily removed to accommodate an exclusion zone for plant/equipment and for a work area while the footpath upgrades are underway.

What to expect:

The George Street footpath works will include:

• Temporary fencing for a work exclusion zone on the current footpath.
• Noise from machinery including vacuum trucks, saw cutting and excavation equipment.
• Workers behind the temporary fencing during construction hours.
• Temporarily reduced footpath width.
