Extended: Night works for North Quay sewer installation

Work is continuing with night works required intermittently within the existing lane closures on North Quay until mid to 20th April 2020.

When:

Work to complete the sewer tie-in to the existing sewer is continuing during the day and at night from 6.30pm and 6:30am until 20th April 2020. Should favourable conditions permit, this work may be completed sooner.

Where:

The works will occur within the existing footpath and lane closures on North Quay between Tank Street and Ann Street.

See attached map for details.

What to expect:

Existing traffic changes will continue while the work is undertaken.

Equipment used will include a crane, lifting equipment, generators, flood lights, hydraulic tools and industrial fans.

Loud works will be carried out early in the night to minimise noise disruption.

Pedestrian access:

As per the current lane and footpath closures, there will be no pedestrian access to the footpath on the southern side of North Quay between Tank Street and the on-ramp to the Bicentennial Bikeway. However, pedestrian access from Ann Street along the southern side of North Quay to the Bicentennial Bikeway will be maintained at all times. To ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists, traffic controllers will be on hand to provide assistance as required.

Vehicle lane closures:

To allow the works to be undertaken safely, exclusion zones will be set up around the work area. This will require the temporary closure of the two lanes joining the Riverside Expressway. An additional lane may be required at times.
