Bicentennial Bikeway intermittent stoppages for overhead bridge works

Out-of-hours work is required to complete the installation of the bridge section and safety screens above the Bicentennial Bikeway

When:

Night work: From Monday 20 February to Friday 3 March 2023, between 7pm and 5am. Bridge contractor Fitzgerald Constructions will be working out-of-hours to install the Neville Bonner Bridge section and associated safety screens that sit above the Bicentennial Bikeway. Works will occur Sunday to Thursday nights.

Traffic Controllers will be in attendance during these periods. All work is subject to weather and site conditions.

Where:

The Bicentennial Bikeway and public realm space known as The Landing behind the integrated resort (see attached map).

Pedestrian and Cyclist Access:

The Bicentennial Bikeway will remain open although for safety reasons, this will require intermittent hold and release of users up to 10 minutes during overhead lifts. Traffic controllers will be on-site during these periods.

What to expect:

Access equipment and cranes working from barges in the Brisbane River to install bridge section and safety screens that span over The Landing adjacent to the Bicentennial Bikeway.
