Tassis to bring a slice of the Mediterranean to The Star Brisbane

Dark Shepherd – a lamb-focused, Mediterranean restaurant will be the next venue to open by the Tassis Group in the highly anticipated Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, located on The Terrace within The Star Brisbane entertainment hub.

With Opa and Yamas – two highly-successful Greek restaurants – already in his portfolio, Michael Tassis is excited to bring his Greek heritage to the new venue, but with a twist. “Dark Shepherd is more Mediterranean than straight up Greek. And we are excited to make lamb the highlight of the menu” says Tassis.

In true Tassis form, seafood will also play an integral role on the menu, with the majority of dishes prepared over a wood fired grill. The venue, designed by Clui Design, will feature a sunken dining room, private dining room and live oyster shucking station. Says Tassis, “The Brisbane dining scene has entered a new and exciting time. With new precincts and big names opening in Brisbane, especially at The Star Brisbane, we are so excited to be a part of it.”

The Star Brisbane Chief Executive Officer Daniel Finch said he was thrilled the Tassis Group had chosen Brisbane’s newest entertainment hub as home to their new venue. “The Tassis Group continues to provide Brisbane with outstanding dining venues, and we are delighted to welcome such a unique offering to The Star Brisbane entertainment hub.”

2024 is a massive year for restaurateur Michael Tassis, who opened Longwang and Fatcow in May, and has not one, but two tenancies secured on Brisbane City Council’s Kangaroo Point Green Bridge.

Dark Shepherd will join the Tassis Group’s extensive portfolio, which already includes: Opa Bar + Mezze, Yamas Greek + Drink, Rich & Rare, Fosh Bar & Restaurant, Massimo Restaurant, Longwang and Fatcow on James Street.
