Queen’s Wharf welcomes a bubbly newcomer “Pompette” to The Terrace

Pompette

With champagne on your mind and a pep in your step, prepare to say ‘Enchanté’ to ‘Pompette Champagne Bar & Restaurant’, on The Terrace at The Star Brisbane.

Positioned directly at the foot of the Neville Bonner pedestrian bridge, Pompette is a flagship tenancy that celebrates all that is authentically French – think champagne, caviar and a whole lot of classic Parisian charm.

Pompette is the first venue of its kind by Brisbane’s Tassis Group, which also unveiled Dark Shepherd at Queen’s Wharf during December.

Tassis Group’s Michael Tassis, says “I’ve always been captivated by French cuisine – the artistry, the technique, and the craft behind it. Yet for many Australians, it can sometimes feel a little intimidating. With Pompette, the vision is to honour the authenticity and quality of French cuisine, while ensuring it’s approachable, shareable and inviting to everyone at the table”

In both design and location, Pompette is a destination dining venue. Boasting panoramic views of Southbank Parklands, the Channel 7 Wheel and Brisbane River, the 140-seater restaurant endows a seamless indoor-outdoor flow with plenty of space to relax and unwind over a post-work refreshment, or for a leisurely catch-up with friends or special occasion.

Collaboratively workshopped by Allo Creative and Clui Design, Pompette’s aesthetic falls nothing short of très chic and flaunts plenty of personality, charm and flirtiness. Its interiors burst into life with pops of blush pink, brushed brass and navy blues, spanning across three key dining spaces – a leafy outdoor terrace and an impressive 16-metre long marble bar reserved exclusively for champagne and oysters.

The venue also features three private dining rooms, including one with private entry, making it perfect for VIP events, corporate or intimate gatherings, and celebrations that deserve a luxe addition.

The French charm continues behind the pass, with Head Chef Jean Luc Morcellet plating up a menu that draws inspiration from traditional haute cuisine, but reimagines it for modern tastes and a more convivial setting. Of course, diners can expect to find classics including Escargot, Steak Au Poivre, and Crème Brûlée, but other notable dishes include the Canard a l’orange (orange duck), Baguette with blue cheese butter, Toothfish Bouillabaisse and Bouef en Croûte – all of which come highly recommended from Mr Tassis himself.

In signature Tassis style, seafood also features heavily and Pompette is home to the Group’s first dedicated oyster bar, where an Ècailler (preparer of seafood) will shuck them fresh to order as a guarantee of unparalleled freshness. Further adding to the glamour, premium caviar also has a moment on the menu, with three types available plus a ‘French Kiss’ which includes a bump served with frozen Ariana vodka.

Naturally, as a champagne restaurant and bar, Pompette’s promises nothing short of impressive.

Featuring over 40 types of French champagne, plus over 150 bottles of wine varietals sourced directly from French wine regions including Champagne, Burgundy, Rhône Valley and Bordeaux – and that’s just the beginning. Guests can also expect to find a hefty selection of signature cocktails, spritzes, beers, ciders and seltzers, plus plenty of non-alcoholic options too, ensuring options for everyone at any time of the day.

Pompette is open 7 days for all day dining, from 11am until late. Reservations are now open. Learnmore – www.pompette.com.au
