Over 120 residents attend Brisbane CBD Community Information Session

More than 120 residents from the Brisbane CBD joined the Queen’s Wharf development team for a Community Information Session on Saturday 22 July hosted by State Member for McConnell, Minister Grace Grace.

Queen’s Wharf Brisbane Project Director Simon Crooks, and Chief Operating Officer – The Star Brisbane, Kelvin Dodt provided an update on the Queen’s Wharf project including the latest work completed on site, plans for the precinct’s staged opening from August 2024 and some exciting recent milestones including the final piece of the Sky Deck lifted into place earlier this month.

Construction updates were also provided on other CBD projects including the Cross River Rail and Waterfront Brisbane projects.

Minister Grace Grace said there are a number of exciting projects happening around inner Brisbane and it’s important to keep the local community informed on the progress of those projects.

“I love hosting our regular Community Information sessions for CBD residents, and once again it was standing room only,” Ms Grace said.

“The heads of these three major construction projects provided our residents with an update on construction progress, upcoming milestones and were on hand to answer any questions our community have about these projects.”

Simon Crooks said the Queen’s Wharf development team welcomed the opportunity to provide an update to the Brisbane CBD community and was able to host a quick question-and-answer session with residents.

“As we continue to reach key milestones like lifting the Sky Deck into place and putting the finishing touches on the Neville Bonner Bridge, the interest in Queen’s Wharf only continues to grow every week. It was fabulous to be able to engage with the local community, show some of the latest timelapse and provide an update on the next stage of works to come.”

Kelvin Dodt said he and the project team looked forward to hosting another Queen’s Wharf community update session soon to share information around the precinct, riverfront parklands and further exciting announcements in the lead up to the development’s staged opening.

“It was great to see such an engaged group of residents in attendance at the community information session that we were proud to host last weekend at Treasury Hotel Brisbane. The Star cannot wait to provide the community with further updates soon,” he said.
