William Street footpath upgrades (southside) on the corner of William and Margaret Street

Pedestrian access temporarily reduced for service installations and upgrades.  

Intermittent night works from 15 February to 28 March 2024 to upgrade a section of the William Street footpath. Footpath to remain open to pedestrians during the day.

When:

From Thursday 15 February works on the footpath on the corner of William and Margaret Streets (outside 1 William Street building) will take place. Work hours will be between 9pm and 5am Monday to Friday for approximately six weeks until Thursday 28 March 2024.

Where:

Footpath works will be taking place on William Street (Southside). There will be temporary fencing in place around the work area for the safety. Access for pedestrians on William Street will remain open during the day.

1 William Street Access on William St:

Access to the 1 William Street building will remain open and pedestrians are required to follow minor temporary diversions to accommodate the works.

What to expect:

The William Street footpath works will include:

– Temporary fencing for a work exclusion zone on the current footpath.
– Minor temporary pedestrian diversions.
– Noise during night works from machinery including vacuum trucks, saw cutting and excavation equipment.
– Task lighting directed into the work area.
– Workers behind the temporary fencing during construction hours.
