The Star Brisbane Margaret Street Carpark entry impacts

The Star Brisbane car park entry on Margaret Street between George Street and the Margaret Street off-ramps will be closed on Monday 24th to Wednesday 26th February between 6.30am and 2.30pm to facilitate facade works on Queen’s Wharf Tower.

When:

Works are scheduled from Monday 24th February to Wednesday 26th February to complete facade works on Queen’s Wharf Tower directly above the Margaret Street car park entry. The Margaret Street car park entry closure will take place between 6.30am and 2.30pm during this period. These works are required during this time due to the high-risk nature of the task.

Why:

An exclusion zone above the Margaret Street car park entry is being made for works to complete facade works over the righthand side of Margaret Street footpath near the Queen’s Wharf Tower.

Where:

Margaret Street from William to George Street may be temporarily impacted while works are underway. Margaret Street off-ramps will remain open and access to The Star Brisbane will be maintained via William St at the direction of traffic control. Access from Gardens Point Road and 1 William Street will remain open.

Changed traffic conditions:

Motorists accessing the CBD can continue to use the Margaret Street southbound and northbound off-ramps but will need to follow the detours in place to access The Star Brisbane car park entry on William Street. Alternatively, motorists can use the Elizabeth Street off-ramps to access The Star Brisbane. Vehicles will continue to be able to exit The Star via Queens Wharf Road and Gardens Point Road under traffic control.

What to expect:

In addition to advance notice for motorists to use the alternative route into The Star Brisbane car park, the following is also expected:

  • Margaret Street car park entry closure
  • Margaret St impacts and reduced speed limits on the approach to the closure for the nominated dates.
  • Detour signage and traffic control to direct motorists and guests to The Star Brisbane
  • Intermittent noisy works
