Riverside Expressway temporarily lane reductions for overhead bridge works 21 – 25 May

Out-of-hours work is required to complete the installation of safety screens to the bridge section above Riverside Expressway, through traffic at all times.

When:

Night works: From Sunday 21 May to Thursday 25 May 2023, between 9pm and 5am. Bridge contractor Fitzgerald Constructions will be working out of hours to complete the installation of safety screens to the Neville Bonner Bridge section that sits above the Riverside Expressway.

Sunday 21 May to Wednesday 25 May 2023, during these nights the expressway will be reduced to single lane each way and the northbound Alice Street onramp will be closed.

On Thursday 25 May, the northbound direction will be reduced to single lane and the northbound Elizabeth Street offramp will be closed.

Where:

The Riverside Expressway in each direction between Elizabeth St and Margaret St off-ramps over the 6-night period.

What to expect:

Temporary lane closures reducing the Riverside expressway to single lanes at times. Access Equipment and small cranes working to install external finishes to the bridge section that spans over the Riverside Expressway. Traffic Controllers and Police will be in attendance during these periods. The Captain Cook bridge will always remain open.

Pedestrian and Cyclist Access:

The Bicentennial bikeway will remain open to all users at all times throughout the planned works.
