Nighttime off-ramp detour: Margaret Street

Night Works: detour in place for motorists using the southbound Margaret Street off-ramp.

When:

Works are scheduled for Monday 3 February, between 8pm to 5am.

Tuesday 4 February is approved as a contingency should Monday evening not go ahead or more time is required.

Why:

The gantry structure over The Star Margaret Street carpark entry will be removed.

Where:

Motorists using the southbound off-ramp onto Margaret Street will need to detour via William Street. Alternative entry to The Star carpark is via William Street.

For motorists using the Gardens Point Road and the northbound Margaret St off-ramp, access through Margaret Street will be available at all times (See map).

Changed traffic conditions:

Motorists can avoid the detour by accessing the CBD via the Elizabeth Street southbound off-ramp. Follow the signage on the Riverside Expressway.

What to expect:

In addition to advance notice for motorists to use alternative routes, the following is also expected:

  • Southbound lane closures and reduced speed limits on the approach to the road closure.
  • Detour signage and traffic control to direct motorists through the city.
  • Engine noise from cranes lifting material during the works.
  • Intermittent noisy works.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your ongoing patience.
