Detour in place for motorists using the southbound Margaret Street off-ramp.
When:
Works are scheduled for Sunday 22 September between 5am to 2pm with contingency for Sunday 29 September 2024. These works are required during daylight hours due to the high-risk nature of the task.
Why:
An exclusion zone is being made for works to the façade and to install a gantry above the carpark entrance on Queen’s Wharf Residences.
Where:
Motorists using the southbound off-ramp onto Margaret Street will need to detour via William Street.
For motorists using the Gardens Point Road and the northbound Margaret Street off-ramp, access through Margaret Street will be available at all times (See map).
Changed traffic conditions:
Motorists can avoid the detour by accessing the CBD via the Elizabeth Street southbound off-ramp. Follow the signage on the Riverside Expressway.
What to expect:
In addition to advance notice for motorists to use alternative routes, the following is also expected:
- Southbound lane closures and reduced speed limits on the approach to the road closure.
- Detour signage and traffic control to direct motorists through the city.
- Engine noise from cranes lifting material within the site.
- Intermittent noisy works.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your ongoing patience.
