Extended: Night works on Margaret Street, in-bound city traffic should take Elizabeth Street or Turbot Street off-ramps from the Riverside Expressway

On the night of Tuesday 18 February work will occur on Margaret Street to complete the installation of an overhead pedestrian gantry for Queen’s Wharf workers.

When:

Night works are required for one night, commencing 8pm on Tuesday 18 February and continuing until 5am 19 February 2020.

All night works are subject to weather and site conditions. Wednesday 19 February and Thursday 20 February will be used as a contingency if wet weather persists.

Where:

The work is to complete the overhead gantry installation on Margaret Street, between William and George streets (see map over page). When complete, the gantry will be used by construction workers for direct access between the construction site and worker site sheds.

Temporary traffic changes:

For in-bound city traffic, use Elizabeth St or Turbot St Riverside Expressway off-ramps. Margaret St off-ramp will only allow access onto William St (for 1WS).

What to expect:

Night works will include:

  • A temporary road closure of Margaret Street, between William and George streets
  • Movement of heavy vehicles and lifting of oversized equipment via a mobile crane
  • Reversing beepers and lighting.

Detour signage and traffic control will be in place to guide road users during the road closure.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your ongoing patience.
