Event Notification: Brisbane Festival

For the month of September, The Landing at Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will come alive with a bold and bright program of events as part of Brisbane Festival.

There will be nine (9) nights of activation along The Landing riverfront area with key events including:

Event Dates & Times

Venue: Queen’s Wharf Brisbane, The Landing and Queen’s Wharf Plaza

Installation:
Monday 25 August – Friday 29 August from 6.00am – 5.00pm
Monday 1 September – Wednesday 3 September from 6.00am – 5.00pm
Thursday 4 September from 6.00am – 10.00pm

Event Dates:
Friday 5 September – Saturday 27 September  (Brisbane Festival Program)

Event Times:
6:00pm – 10:00pm – Friday 5 September (Brisbane Festival Opening Night)
12.00pm – 9:00pm – Saturday 6 September (Riverfire by Australian Retirement Trust)
6.00pm – 8:30pm – Thursday 18 September – Sunday 21 September (Baleen Moondjan)
5.00pm – 10:00pm – Thursday 25 September – Saturday 27 September (Drone Show)

Dismantle:
Monday 29 September – Friday 3 October 6:00am – 6:00pm

Cost:
Riverfire and Drone Show: free to the public, with food and beverage available for purchase, plus ticketed options via Brisbane Festival website.
Baleen Moondjan: $40 – $60 via Brisbane Festival website.

Event Programming

During event opening hours, there may be amplified entertainment, the use of performance lighting and pyrotechnic effects through Riverfire.

Sound checks and rehearsals will occur:

  • (Riverfire) Thursday 4th September 2pm – 6pm
  • (Baleen) Monday 15th September, 2pm – 10pm, Tuesday 16th – Wednesday 17th September, 12pm – 10pm
  • (Skylore Drones) Wednesday 24th September 4pm – 10pm.

The event has a Noise Management Plan in place and will conduct regular noise monitoring to ensure compliance with the approved levels. There will be no amplified noise after 10.00pm each evening.

For Road Closure

For information on Road, Bridge, Cycleway and River Closures for Riverfire by Australian Retirement Trust – Brisbane Festival please refer to the Brisbane Festival website: https://www.brisbanefestival.com.au/road-bridge-and-river-closures

For Active Transport users of the Bicentennial Bikeway:

For Riverfire, the Bicentennial Bikeway will be closed from 4pm, Saturday 6th September. Please refer to the Brisbane Festival website for information on all road, bridge and bikeway closures:

For all other events, there will be minimal impact and no closures to the Bicentennial bikeway. Show times commence post 6pm peak commuting periods and pedestrians will be managed crossing the Queen’s Wharf Plaza. Event and slow down signage will be in place. Please ensure that all active transport users adhere to the 10km speed limit through the Queen’s Wharf Plaza shared zone.
