Elizabeth Street off ramp closure and Bicentennial Bikeway intermittent stoppages for overhead bridge works

Out-of-hours work is required to complete the installation of safety screens above the Bicentennial Bikeway adjacent to the Elizabeth Street off ramp

 

When:

Night work: On Sunday 23 April 2023, between 9pm and 5am. Bridge contractor Fitzgerald Constructions will be working out of hours to install the Neville Bonner Bridge safety screens that sit above the Bicentennial Bikeway adjacent to the Elizabeth Street off ramp.

Traffic Controllers will be in attendance on the bikeway during these periods. All work is subject to weather and site conditions.

Where:

The Bicentennial Bikeway and public realm space known as The Landing behind the integrated resort (see attached map).

What to expect:

Access equipment and cranes working from barges in the Brisbane River to install safety screens that span over the Landing adjacent to the Bicentennial Bikeway and Elizabeth Street off ramp.

Motorists heading north bound into Brisbane City will need to use either Margaret Street or Turbot Street off ramps.

 

Pedestrian and Cyclist Access:

The Bicentennial bikeway will remain open although for safety reasons will require intermittent hold and release of users up to 10 minutes during overhead lifts. Traffic controllers will be on-site during these periods.
