From 8pm Tuesday 16 July 2024, a temporary realignment of the diversion for all bikeway users along the Bicentennial Bikeway will be implemented while works to upgrade the public space within the Queen’s Wharf development continues
When:
From 8pm Tuesday 16 July 2024 the diversion realignment will commence for pedestrians and active transport users on the Bicentennial Bikeway as we work towards opening later this year.
Why:
An exclusion zone is being made for works to dismantle the hoist from the Queen’s Wharf Residences Tower Four.
Where:
From the Finger Wharves at North Quay to The Landing, a revised diversion will be in place for all bikeway users. The diversion will be clearly marked with fencing and directional and speed limit signage.
Temporary diversion:
The diversion realignment is required while rejuvenation works to transform the public space continue and temporary bridge structures are removed as we work towards opening this year. Users will be redirected to a new alignment along The Landing.
Please plan ahead, take care, be conscious of other users and travel to conditions.
What to expect:
The temporary bikeway diversion will include the following:
- From 8pm Tuesday 16 July to 5am Wednesday 17 July bikeway users maybe required to dismount and/or stop intermittently for a short period as works take place under traffic control.
- A revised diversion on the Bicentennial Bikeway for pedestrians and active transport users
- Reduced speed limit for cyclists and electric scooters on the diversion.
- Lighting, directional signage, mirrors and fencing along the bikeway.
