Revised: Bicentennial Bikeway realignment through Queen’s Wharf

A section of the Bicentennial Bikeway will be realigned for all bikeway users while further riverside green space will be opened to the public.

When:

Revised: From 10am Thursday 3 October (moved from 1 October) 2024, a realignment of the Bicentennial Bikeway providing separate pathways for active transport users and pedestrians will be implemented and The Landing green space will be opened.

Where:

From Queen’s Wharf Plaza (beneath the Neville Bonner Bridge) to the Mangrove Walk, a realignment of the bikeway separating active transport users and pedestrians will be implemented for all bikeway users. (Refer to map).  

The realignment will be clearly marked with linemarking, directional and speed limit signage.  Active transport users (bikes and scooters) will be redirected to the new alignment in front of The Star Brisbane while pedestrians will remain riverside on The Landing which will be further opened to the public.

Please plan ahead, take care, be conscious of other users and travel to conditions.  

What to expect:

The changes will include the following:

  • A realignment of the Bicentennial Bikeway for active transport users (refer to map)
  • A revised route for pedestrians on the Landing will be opened and existing fencing will be removed (refer to map)
  • Additional signage and traffic control will be in place for the initial period.
