Project update

The transformation of the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane from former government precinct to demolition zone is well advanced.

With demolition now underway on all three-former government tenanted buildings, you can start to see how in another six months, there will be next to nothing left of these buildings.

By way of tracking the progress, drop down banners have been installed on the Executive Building to count the 15 floors as they come down.

At this stage, two of the seven scheduled weekend road closures for the Riverside Expressway Margaret St off-ramps are complete with demolition of the Margaret Street overpass progressing as anticipated.

We realise the road closures and night time works may be inconvenient and we appreciate everyone’s patience as this important demolition work is undertaken.

The timing of the road closures has been scheduled for weekends to minimise disruption to commuter and CBD traffic.

Anyone interested in seeing how the site is transforming is invited to watch our time-lapse videos, available at the end of each month on our Facebook page

Our Plan of Development has been submitted to the Queensland Government for review. If you are interested in reviewing our Plan of Development please visit http://www.dilgp.qld.gov.au/planning/development-assessment/priority-development-area-development-applications.html and look for the Destination Brisbane Consortium development applications.

Importantly, as part of the approval process, the community is invited to make submissions during the public notification period. We are not yet in the public notification period; however this will be advertised at the appropriate time.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly on 1800 104 535 or via our email address qwbenquiries@destinationbrisbane.com.au.
