Sewer works require temporary lane closures along Margaret and George Streets

Nightworks: Temporary lane closures required on Margaret and George Streets intermittently from Tuesday 19 February until Monday 30 September to undertake new sewer installation works.

When:

Nightwork: From Tuesday 19 February until Monday 30 September, between 8:00pm until 5:00am, on an intermittent basis sewer installation works will be undertaken to construct a new sewer main, sewer manholes and connect with existing infrastructure.

Where:

The majority of work will occur within Probuild’s site, however there will be times when work needs to occur outside the site and will require a partial and temporary lane closure along Margaret Street and/or part of George Street, as per the attached map.

What to expect:

Equipment used will include auger boring equipment, small excavators, concrete cutters and concrete placing machinery.

Loud works will be carried out early in the night to minimise noise disruption.

Pedestrian access:

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times on the southern side of Margaret Street and along George Street.

Vehicle lane closures:

To allow the works to be undertaken safely, exclusion zones will be set up around the work area and the works will be undertaken at night to reduce the impact on traffic. This will require the temporary closure of certain lanes on Margaret and George Streets. Traffic controllers will be in place to assist with pedestrian and traffic movements.
