Northbound Elizabeth Street Riverside Expressway off-ramp temporarily closed for night works

Night works: From 17 June until 1 July 2019, the Riverside Expressway northbound Elizabeth St off-ramp will be periodically closed while monitoring equipment is installed to the underside of Riverside Expressway.

When:

Night works: Works will occur overnight from 14 June until 1 July, between 8pm and 4am on selected nights. The roads will be reopened by 4am for normal daytime traffic movements.

Where:

The works will require:

  • full closure of the Elizabeth Street off-ramp (northbound) from the Riverside Expressway
  • Partial closure of one of three northbound lanes of the Riverside Expressway immediately after the Elizabeth Street off-ramp (see attached map for details).

Northbound vehicles entering the city via the Riverside Expressway will need to use Margaret or Turbot Street exits.

Directional and warning signage will be in place to communicate these changes.

What to expect:

The closures are required to install monitoring equipment on the Riverside Expressway.

Equipment used will include hand-held drills and an under-bridge access unit.

Traffic changes:

Vehicles entering the city from the Riverside Expressway (northbound) will need to use the Margaret or Turbot Street exits.

The partial closure of one of three southbound lanes of the Riverside Expressway will not affect traffic entering or exiting the city.

The ramp and traffic lane closures will be controlled by Queensland Police Service and traffic controllers.

Directional and warning signage will be in place to communicate these changes.
