A number of slight changes to the Bicentennial Bikeway diversion, between the Brisbane River and Gardens Point Rd, will be necessary as finishing works are undertaken prior to reopening the bikeway later in 2019.
Between 26 March and 31 May 2019, a number of minor adjustments to the pathway alignment will be necessary as bikeway path construction and landscaping works are undertaken.
A number of sequenced minor diversions along the pathway that travels from the Bicentennial Bikeway through to Gardens Point Rd will be necessary between 26 March and 31 May.
Specifically, the realignment will take place on the current pathway between Waterline Park (behind 1 William St and currently under construction) and the parliamentary carpark. The work will require the pathway to be moved slightly, and a 90-degree corner removed for a better line of sight.
What to expect:
Temporary fencing and signage will be used to delineate the new pathway and to separate users from construction activities.
Points of the diversion will narrow temporarily, and traffic controls will be in place when necessary to encourage safe speeds at the temporary narrow areas.
During this time, a number of minor changes will occur, and bikeway users are encouraged to approach with caution and take care.
Further minor changes to the alignment can be expected within this period.
