Project update

This week Destination Brisbane Consortium was pleased to announce Probuild as the contractor appointed to undertake enabling works on Queen’s Wharf Brisbane.

Probuild is a national company with a Queensland based business that has a proven track-record, having delivered some of the state’s largest construction projects. In Queensland alone, Probuild is delivering the Grand Central Redevelopment (in Toowoomba), Coorparoo Transport Oriented Development, and Jupiters Gold Coast new six star hotel suite tower.

The appointment of this contract falls on the back of Economic Development Queensland approving Destination Brisbane Consortium’s Demolition and Enabling Works Application.

The scope of work approved by Economic Development Queensland enables the following activities to occur:

  • site hoarding
  • demolition of non‑heritage buildings
  • heritage maintenance
  • service diversions.

In the first quarter of next year Destination Brisbane Consortium will submit the formal Plan of Development to Economic Development Queensland. This important document is the blueprint for what can be built on the site after demolition of the non-heritage buildings.
